As classes begin, we want to remind our UPIKE Campus Community about the Fitness Center and its services.
The Center for Student Engagement is pleased to announce a renewed focus on your health and wellness. Through a more recent strategic plan, the Fitness Center will offer new and additional services throughout the Spring semester -- so be on the lookout for new opportunities coming your way!
A few housekeeping reminders, as we kick off a new term:
Fitness Center members must sign in and present a valid UPIKE ID card at the reception desk prior to each workout session.
No outside guests, visitors, spouses, children, etc., are permitted. Fitness Center is strictly for current UPIKE Students, Faculty, and Staff.
Fitness Center is open 7-days a week from 6:00 AM - 11:59 PM
Please note that most of this time, a member of the Center for Student Engagement Staff will be working, but there may be shifts where staff will be unavailable, including any breaks in which the Residence Halls or the University is closed.
Use of the Fitness Center is considered a privilege. Individuals who do not comply with the established policies will be asked to leave and may have their membership revoked.
There is no parking permitted on Hambley Blvd, alongside the Parking Garage structure. Vehicles are subject to enforcement by the City of Pikeville Police Department and may be towed at the owner's expense.
Please use the Free Public Parking Garage, entrance on Hambley Blvd next to the Hampton Inn, or utilize parking lots on campus and walk to the Fitness Center.
In addition, the reserved parking on the Ground Floor of the Parking Garge Structure is limited to the Fitness Center Staff and Supervisor team. Members who park there are subject to ticketing through Public Safety, in violation of Reserved Parking.
Members participating in the Fitness Center will do so at their own risk. The Fitness Center and/or the University of Pikeville is not responsible for any injury that may occur to individuals participating in any exercise activity. Participation in exercise activity is on a voluntary basis.
The UPIKE Fitness Center is now hiring for Federal Work Study (FWS). We are looking for dedicated students to help the Fitness Center elevate its service and continue providing a safe and enriching area for our UPIKE Community.
