Welcome to This Is News To Me

This Is News To Me is a weekly newsletter service that the Center for Student Engagement (CSE) offers to the UPIKE campus, as a snapshot of the upcoming events for the Week. A newsletter is typically sent every Monday, highlighting the upcoming events taking place all across campus from activities listed within CampusGroups or other important announcements.

Introducing CampusGroups

Center for Student Engagement (CSE) has officially retired our previous engagement platform, Presence, and moved to a more robust and interactive platform, called CampusGroups.

So whether you want to know what upcoming events are taking place, like our Free Bowling Nights to which Club or Organization you can join, CampusGroups is your one-stop-shop on how to get engaged and stay engaged on campus!

CampusGroups also has a robust mobile app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This mobile app is interactive and offers a lot of customization and networking opportunities.

With the COVID-19 situation always changing, CampusGroups will be heavily utilized by the Center for Student Engagement, so we highly encourage you to download it today and stay connected. We already have events planned out, that require pre-registration -- all available and accessible on the mobile app. In addition to Pre-Registrations, CampusGroups will also be used to Check-in people into events. 

Campus Activities Board (CAB) Events Update

To best protect and serve our student body, the Center for Student Engagement (CSE) requires all events hosted by the Campus Activities Board (CAB) to have pre-registration if the event is face-to-face.

In addition to Pre-Registration, all attendees will submit to an infrared thermometer reading before entering the event, in addition to being required to have a proper face mask covering. Students must present their UPIKE ID card and/or their CampusGroup ID Badge to enter the event.  Pre-registration can be accomplished through the CampusGroup mobile app.  The CSE reserves the right to deny entry to any student who fails to comply with the protocols established above or policies established by the University.  Lastly, outside guests for any face-to-face event are prohibited. #MaskUp #GoBears

The Campus Activities Board is also working on providing some unique programming.  Be sure to check CampusGroups on a regular basis for all the upcoming events and details.  We will continue to send Weekly Newsletter highlighting the upcoming events, which will start next week, on Monday, August 31st.
