This session will explore race, ethnicity and the African-American experience to facilitate cross-racial and cross-cultural dialogue about identity, privilege, bias and prejudice. Participants will be taught: 1) how to approach conversations about race and culture with openness; 2) how to engage conversations that are racially sensitive; 3) receive coaching on how inclusivity works; and 4) learn how to agree to disagree without exhibiting intolerance.
The learning outcomes of this session include: 1) increasing racial and ethnic sensitivity and awareness; 2) bridging cross-racial understanding; 3) strengthening inclusion and a sense of community that appreciates difference; and 4) enabling the capacity of participants to have conversations about race and ethnicity with competence.
